it may sound unlikely, but a knack for argumentation in law and politics paved the way for my career in the film industry. while studying at princeton, i thrived on the debate team where i discovered my natural abilities to blossom in the dialectic of negotiation and artistic acumen so tangible in the film world. at times, princeton itself felt like a film set with its idiosyncratic cast of celebrity thinkers and eager students traversing its insular, gothic campus. after i obtained my degree in politics and chinese studies, i moved to new york and enrolled in the stella adler studio of acting. here, i developed advanced technique in the areas of script interpretation, scene study, improvisation, movement, shakespeare, composition, the adler technique, and voice and speech. my experience as a film, tv, and theater actor paved the way for a simultaneous career in producing, where my lifelong interests in storytelling and entrepreneurship could successfully burgeon. i have worked closely with tony award-winning martial arts director, producer, and choreographer jamie h.j. guan in the pursuit of film projects in china, and am currently working on a gold coast based film. i have engaged in the world of film critique and connoisseurship, actively engaging in the festival milieus. i see myself as an artist who creates, hones, and shares her technique – ultimately chiseling my own visions into film realities of out of raw hard work, practice, patience, and originality.
